Riddle me this Batman:
Two Companies Walk into the M&A Bar
Both have:
• $10M in annual revenue
• $1M in net income
They sit down, order a drink, and eventually… sell.
One company walks out with $3M.
The other walks out with $6M.
The first company looks over and says:
“What the heck?! We had the same revenue and the same profit. Why did you get more than me?”
Riddle me this:
Why did one company get paid 2× more?
Hint:
It wasn’t luck.
It wasn’t timing.
And it definitely wasn’t the P&L alone.
Can you answer the riddle?
